Friendship & Belonging
Stories that help children take brave social steps, use their voice, and build the kind of connections that help them feel safe, seen, and included.
F.E.A.R.: Making New Friends
The Courage Corner knows how scary it can feel to be the new kid. That’s why F.E.A.R. of Making New Friends was written—to give young readers the encouragement they need to take that first brave step. Our work centers around creating safe spaces for big feelings and celebrating the courage it takes to connect with others.

F.E.A.R.: Facing Bullies
As a firm believer in emotional resilience and self-worth, we wrote F.E.A.R. of Bullies to help children stand tall in the face of intimidation. Through relatable storytelling and empowering messages, we hope every child feels seen, heard, and worthy of respect. This book encourages kids to honor their feelings and speak up with strength and grace.

Joy to the World
Do you know your neighbors?
Becks does—and one neighbor in particular is his favorite. Her name is Joy, and just like the song, she is a gift to the world.
Joy is thoughtful, helpful, and always ready to lend a hand. Whether she is sharing a kind word, looking out for the people around her, or reminding Becks that small acts of care matter, Joy shows him what it means to be part of a community.
Joy to the World is a warm story about kindness, belonging, and the safe adults who help children feel seen, supported, and connected. It invites young readers to notice the caring people in their own village—and to discover the difference they can make, too.
Perfect for children ages 5–10, families, classrooms, libraries, churches, and counseling spaces.
